In Sri Lanka, UNP Anuradhapura District Parliamentarian, P. Harrison in the parliament yesterday (08) noted that approximately 150, 000 people in North Central Province are suffering from Chronic Kidney Disease of Uncertain Aetiology( CKDu). The final report of the investigations and evaluation of the CKDu in Sri Lanka by the WHO, in collaboration with the Ministry of Health, has identified pesticides and fertilizers as prime causes for the disease.

The UNP parliamentarian alleged that the Director General of Health Services for concealing the content of the report .He urged the government to present the report to the parliament to increase public awareness.
