In 2013 we hope to encourage Tamils to call loudly and forcefully for separation, Tamils for Obama organisation said in a statement. Here is the full text of the statement: We wish all our Tamil friends a happy, healthy, and prosperous new year. In 2012, we Tamils accomplished some things that we hope we can continue and expand in 2013. UK Channel 4 broadcast “Sri Lanka’s Killing Fields.”  We made DVDs of this documentary and circulated them to important people in the US  (and elsewhere).  This documentary  convinced many of these people of the justice of our cause. In 2013 we hope to get the narration in “Sri Lanka’s Killing Fields” translated into more of the world’s languages and distributed. In 2012, the UNHRC adopted a resolution urging Sri Lanka to investigate war crimes committed by its army during the civil war. We doubt that Sri Lanka will do this, but we are encouraged that the United Nations acknowledged these crimes and spoke publicly about them. We Tamils should hope to build on this success in 2013, and promote an international investigation. After the bloody civil war, some NGOs have wondered why more Tamils are not demanding separation from the Singhalese of Sri Lanka. In 2013 we hope to encourage Tamils to call loudly and forcefully for separation.      ]]>
