The Swiss Government has deported three Sri Lankan Tamils on Friday who were found not eligible to seek asylum in Switzerland. The three Lankan Tamils have been deported as part of the decision taken by the Swiss Government to deport bogus asylum seekers from Switzerland.
Around 2,000 Sri Lankan Tamils who have overstayed in various parts of Switzerland have been found without any valid reason to seek asylum in Switzerland, reports said. In the past few weeks around thirteen Lankan Tamils have been deported to Colombo by the Swiss officials, reports said.
The three Lankans deported on Friday were from Jaffna and they have been sent back to Sri Lanka as they did not possess any valid reason to seek asylum in Switzerland. The Swiss officials are also in the process of scanning other Lankan asylum seekers to check whether they genuinely need asylum.
