Chinese defence minister Liang Guanglie will arrive in Sri Lanka tomorrow (Aug. 29) on a five-day visit.
His visit follows Sri Lankan Army Commander Lt. Gen. Jagath Jayasuriya’s visit to Beijing in two months ago.
Meanwhile, China is providing 100 million dollars for army welfare projects initiated by the Ministry of Defense.
The government plans to set up accommodation and infrastructure facilities in army camps in the north and east with Chinese assistance.
China has also announced a grant of 1.5 million dollars for the modernization of the Defense Services College in Colombo for children of security forces and police personnel.
