Over 250 goats and around 72 chickens have reportedly been slaughtered during a Hindu ritual in Pandatharippu in Jaffna over the weekend. The goats had been slaughtered as part of a ceremony held at a Hindu Temple in the area. The religious ritual has been attended by hundreds of devotees.
