The US Assistant Secretary of State for South and Central Asian Affairs, Robert O. Blake, was briefed by the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) on the current stalemate with regard to the formation of the new provincial administration in the East. According to TNA Parliamentarian, M.A. Sumanthiran, Blake was briefed by the TNA Leader, R. Sampanthan on the outcome of the Eastern polls. Sumanthiran told to the Colombo media that they were expecting the SLMC to support the TNA in the formation of a provincial administration of regional parties. He also said the other issues such as the indefinite detention of Tamil political prisoners, land acquisition in the North by the Security Forces and concerns related to the future talks with the government were also discussed in detail.]]>
