Jayalalithaa_pointing_finger_295The people should help DMK enter the Guinness Book of World Records by forfeiting deposits in the maximum number of constituencies, said the former Chief Minister J. Jayalalithaa while addressing a public meeting here on Wednesday.

Chief Minister Karunanidhi was only interested in the welfare of his family members, she said adding that they had brought under their control various businesses, including cinema, media and the cable TV.

They were seeking another term only to enter the remaining fields.

At the Tamil conference in Coimbatore, Mr. Karunanidhi’s daughter Kanimozhi had been projected while Tamil was put on the back burner.

The killing of Tamils in Sri Lanka could have been prevented if Mr. Karunanidhi had seriously considered withdrawing support to the Centre.

Exhorting the people to free Tamil Nadu from the family rule, she said that while price rise was getting out of hand, law and order had deteriorated. On the power front, Tamil Nadu had moved from excess to deficit. Unemployment and corruption were on the rise.

If Mr. Karunanidhi was given another term, the entire state will be looted.

On the 2G scam, Ms. Jayalalithaa said that while it had been planned by the Chief Minister, “a Dalit (Raja) has been arrested and a Muslim (Sadiq Basha) has lost his life.”

She said that if her front won the elections efforts would be made to get remunerative prices for raw tea leaves of small tea growers and steps would be taken to get the Badaga community included in the list of Scheduled Tribes.

A local holiday will be declared for the annual Hetthai Amman festival of the Badagas. Backward Class certificates would be given to members of the Ezhuva-Theeyar community. Priority would be accorded to revive the ailing Hindustan Photo Films.

Pattas would be given to Scheduled Castes. She added that she was aware of the problems in Gudalur and Coonoor. She listed the schemes which would be implemented if the AIADMK front wins.

Addressing an election campaign meeting in Pollachi, to seek votes for her party’s nominees M.K. Muthukaruppannasamy (Pollachi), Pollachi V. Jayaraman (Udumalpet) and C. Shanmugavelu (Madathukulam) and Communist Party of India nominee M. Arumugam (Valparai), Ms. Jayalalithaa said in the last five years, the DMK Government strived to make Tamil Nadu a power deficit state. She said that no action was taken against two Ministers – one was involved in land grabbing and the other visited a murder case accused at the Salem Central Prison.

She accused the Chief Minister of having been an abettor of the genocide of the Tamil race in the island nation and deceiving the people by resorting to a fast for three hours and withdrawing the same under the pretext of a ceasefire. The AIADMK would ensure the completion of Anamalaiaru and Nallaru schemes for enhancing the availability of water under the Parambikulam Aliyar Project. Promising free power for farmers, she announced that the AIADMK would consider the plea for permission to tap toddy to help the palm and coconut growers in the State.

She said she was committed to restore the properties grabbed by those in power and hand them over to its legitimate owners.
