The Sri Lankan President Mahinda Rajapaksa’s scheduled visit to India at the end of this month, will not be altered in any manner, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reiterates.
The Ministry said that the opposition of several groups in Tamil Nadu would not affect the visit.
The General Secretary of the Tamil Nadu ruling party, MDMK, Mr. Vaiko, the leader of the main opposition party, DMK , Mr M. Karunanidhi have already opposed President Mahinda Raajapaksa’s Indian visit.
They point out that Rajapaksa who is responsible for the kicking of thousands of Tamils, should not be permitted to enter India.
However, Tamil Nadu is only on state of India , and the Central government of India has no objections whatsoever towards Sri lanka, points out the Rajapaksa’s media unit.
