Technology gives a more complete view of airspace, lets pilots “see” turbulence and bad weather from nearly 70 miles away. For first time, the new radar manufactured by Honeywell, now being installed in business, military and commercial aircrafts, allow pilots to “see” turbulence and other bad weather such as lighting and hail from nearly 70 miles away. The main difference between the 3-D and 2-D versions is the scanning process. Overall, weather delays and cancellations cost the U.S economy about $ 1.8 Billion each year, according to the Department of Transportation.  ]]>
