Protest – India recognize Tamil Eelam


Tamils gathered in the downtown core of Chennai, Tamil Nadu on Saturday August 04, 2012 to bring awareness to the humanitarian crisis faced Tamils in Sri Lanka. It is estimated the demonstrators gathered reached hundreds.

The protestors express their support for Tamils. Many chanted, “Lift ban on LTTE”, “India Recognize Tamil Eelam”, and “Tamils want Tamil Eelam”.

They also remembered the Tamils died in the attacks from the Sri Lankan Government. Protestors condemned an India’s act of crackdown on Tamils protests in Tamil Nadu.

“We strongly condemn the Centre for supporting inhuman Rajapaksa, who is responsible for the death of thousands of innocent Sri Lankan civilians,” Tamil Nadu people right organisation (TNPRO) founder Lawyer P Pugalenthi, who led the protests at Chennai, told.

“There are no difference between Karunanithi and Jayalalitha in ban on LTTE” Tamil national communist party, leader P Maniyarasan said.
