The Sri Lankan Ministry of Finance is making arrangements to obtain loans amounting to Rs 1,303 billion for the coming year. A senior official attached to the Budget Division of the Ministry of Finance told to the Colombo media that negotiations in this regard have already been conducted with the International Monetary Fund (IMF), World Bank, Asian Development Bank (ADB) and international lending institutes and that this loan is required to be obtained under whatever the terms and conditions imposed. It is learnt that the Sri Lanka is prepared to obtain loans amounting to a sum of Rs 747 billion for the payment of loan instalments and interest, while a sum of Rs 507,400 million to bridge the budget deficit. ]]>
