Death threats are continuing for the TNA elected members for the Eastern Provincial Council, according to the TNA’s Batticaloa district MP Mr. P. Ariyanethran.
Despite the fact that 15 days have elapsed since the conclusion of the elections, those threats have not abated, he said.
THE TNA has sought the intervention of the government on several occasions to seek protection for its members who were elected to the Eastern Provincial Council.
TNA Parliamentary group leader, Mr. R. Sampanthan had raised this issue when he met with President Rajapaksa.
However, the authorities have yet give this issue it due focus.
He said he had resolved to complain to the Commissioner of Elections as well as the Secretary of Defense, regarding this matter.
