The Tamil National Alliance (TNA) has decided to vote against the Divi Neguma Bill when it will be taken up for debate in Sri Lankan Parliament today. TNA parliamentarian Suresh Premachandran said the party will oppose the Bill, as it will curtail the powers given to theProvincial Councils. He also said the party will reconsider its decision, only if the Bill incorporates the amendments suggested by the party. Premachandran also said when the Bill was first tabled, they opposed and sought legal assistance, and went to courts. The judgment of the Courts was, the approval of all the Provincial Councils was needed, to pass the Bill.  “We are not prepared to change our stance. The Bill is going to be tabled again without any amendments we suggested. Therefore, we will oppose it,” Premachandran said.]]>
