The two representatives of the United Nations High Commissioner for Human Rights Navanethem Pillay who are now touring the Sri Lanka have reportedly said that they are primarily out to conduct a general assessment of the human rights situation in the country and they have no intention of conducting investigations on human rights violations. The two representatives of the UN High Commission for Human Rights, Dr. Oscar Solera and Kathy Megally have told that their concern was to only look into the progress or the implementation of a resolution adopted by the UN High Commission for Human Rights and not the resolution itself, UN officials concerning the disappearance of persons. They are due to tour the North-East areas in the coming week.]]>
