Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam general secretary Vaiko has demanded that the Centre should immediately pack off the two Sri Lankan officials undergoing training at the Defence Services Staff College, Wellington, Udhagamandalam, an Indian media reports. Criticising the Union Minister of State for Home Pallam Raju for his comments that the Central government would go ahead with providing training to the Sri Lankan defence personnel, he said that it showed disrespect to the people of Tamil Nadu. “It is a warning to send the two Sri Lankans back to their home from our motherland without any more delay. There is no space for such people who are responsible for the killing of millions of Tamils in the island nation,” he said. Any delay on the part of the Union government in this issue would cause heartburn against Prime Minister Manmohan Singh. “The comment of Mr. Pallam Raju itself looks like that of the Prime Minister,” he said and appealed to the PM to be fair. Mr. Vaiko wanted justice from the government with respect to the Sri Lankan refugees living in Tamil Nadu. The condition of Senduran, a Sri Lankan Tamil who is on a fast, is becoming critical. “Before things slip from bad to worse, the government should look into the grievances as many inmates of refugee camps in Chengalpattu and Poonamallee are experiencing mental trauma. The police are foisting cases against innocent people,” he alleged.]]>
