Chief Minister Jayalalithaa should shift Senthuran, a Sri Lankan Tamil undertaking a fast for the past 26 days in a special camp in Poonamallee, along with those in the camp and another in Chengalpattu, to open camps, said Vaiko, general secretary, Marumalarchi Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam (MDMK). Mr. Senthuran had been fasting without even drinking water for the past nine days and there were chances of kidney failure leading to multiple organ failure and death. Instead of going by the the Q Branch police who have foisted false cases on him and other inmates, the Chief Minister should look at the issue on humanitarian grounds and shift them all to open camps. Over the past 23 days, the doctors have inspected him only six times and once he was briefly admitted to government hospital only to be shifted back to the special camp. Many Tamil activists and tamil political leaders including Tamil national communist party leader Mr P Maniyarasan, film director Pugalenthi, film director Velu Prabaharan and Prof. Theeran have participated in Vaiko’s fasting.]]>
