About 500 trained graduate veterinarians who have not been absorbed into state service intend leaving theÂ Sri LankaÂ say reports.
The trained graduate veterinary surgeons are frustrated as veterinarians have not been formally absorbed into state service for the last 7 years. This state has arisen due to double standards followed by officials of relevant ministries including the Ministry of Livestock and Rural Community Development.
It is also stated that among those trained graduates in veterinary medicine who have not got appointment in state service are several who have reached the age of recruitment.
The second highest amount spent by the public in producing graduates in the medical sector is spent in producing veterinarians.
