Lankan Navy occupies land of Tamils who live under trees


A group of war-displaced people are asking authorities to resettle them in their own village in Mannar, BBC Sandeshaya reports. The 350 families, removed from welfare camps, allege their village, Mullikulam, is being occupied by Navy families. The Navy has told them when they had gone back to their village that the land could not be release due to security reasons, according to BBC Sandeshaya. They have been provided land at Marichchakattu and Kayappuli, where they cannot even find drinking water, or engage in fishing of farming and forced to live under trees.]]>
