Mannar judge’s house attacked by paramilitary

A house owned by the Mannar Magistrate Anthony Pillai Judeson came under attack late last night by Sri Lankan paramilitary gang.

The house located at Sebastiar Street in Mannar has been given out on rent by the Magistrate, Mannar sources said.

Stones were thrown at the house by the gang resulting in minor damages to the property while a vehicle parked in the premises was also damaged.

The Magistrate is residing close to the Mannar District secretariat office. Recently Muslims had protested against an order he had given in support of some Tamil fishermen.

It was later reported that SL Minister Rishad Bathiudeen had threatened the Magistrate and asked him to change his ruling.
