UNHRC vote – 32 countries supporting


The  vote on  US Resolution against Sri Lanka at the current UNHRC sessions  will be taken today (21) at 10. AM  Geneva time, 2 pm SL time. 47 countries are eligible to vote. At the 2012 march sessions, 24 countries voted against Sri Lanka for the Resolution  while 15 countries  voted against.  Eight countries abstained from voting.

At the time, the SL govt put those who abstained too on their side and said SL lost by one vote.

Meanwhile,  according to ‘ Divaina’ newspapers, this time there are 32 countries supporting the US Resolution against Sri Lanka .They are – Norway, Canada, Croatia, Poland, Australia, Belgium, Denmark, France, Estonia, Finland,Georgia, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Monaco, Iceland, Ireland, Italy, Liechtenstein, Lithuania, Malta, Montenegro, Romania, Slovakia, Slovania, Portugal, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and Britain.

According to well known media personality in Geneva, Sunanada Deshapriya,  the US Resolution would receive more than 25 votes, and that Sri Lanka would receive a at least a minimum of 12 votes. There is also a possibility in the crease of rejected votes.
